We are living, at a global level, a season of great personal, spiritual, and family challenges in which the things we thought would bring us success actually brought us disastrous results. Today, we see those results manifested as national economic crisis, the housing market collapse and an increase of unemployment–like never before.
For this reason, we have had to seek alternatives or doors of escape in order to live and find the emotional, spiritual, and moral stability that we so desire. However, today I present to you an answer and not another alternative. Not a door of escape but an entrance to an abundant and full life, as established by the Bible in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV) A full life is not measured by the treasures one possesses but by the balanced life one is able to have in Christ, being prosperous in the personal and spiritual, on a daily basis.
I want to bring you some spiritual principles that will revolutionize your spirit; so that in this month you may begin to self-develop, and enter into the supernatural move of God for your life. These spiritual principles must be understood and perfectly applied in your life in order to know the volume of resources that are already available for your success.
Genesis 1:27 is a great and original principle
“So God created humans in his own image. He created them to be like himself. He created them male and female.” (ERV) When we meditate on this we understand the following: we were created according to his image and likeness. God is a supernatural God and we, as his children, can do supernatural things. If we have the supernatural nature we can have the ability to do things we have never achieved, in a supernatural way. If you understand this, you can conclude that from our conception we have been equipped for everything that is necessary to complete the assigned mission. That equipment is called gifts and talents, inherent in every human being that can take us to a live a life without limits.
a. Talents: A special intellectual aptitude, natural or acquired ability for certain things. It is a natural ability (innate) that we carry from our first birth, which we develop and perfect.
b. Gifts: The Spanish word for “gift”, don, comes from the word “carisma”, gift. It is a spiritual ability (gift) that God gives us so we can serve Him and our brothers. These should be developed and perfected for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
God specifically equips us to serve. It is not a natural ability (talent) that comes with the first birth, but a supernatural ability that comes with the second spiritual birth that we call the new birth in Christ.
When we define both words we realize that spiritual gifts help us in our spiritual growth, and talents help us in our personal growth. Therefore, if you have both in your life you have the necessary tools to be fruitful and grow into a full life.
“Gifts are certain abilities, granted by the grace and power of God, that equip believers for a specific service. A spiritual gift is not what man can do under favorable conditions; rather it reveals what God can grant in His grace.” (John Stott, Sed Llenos del Espiritu Santo, (Be Full of the Holy Spirit, pg 82).
All human beings posses’ natural talents: draw, paint, sow, sculpt, write, do business, invent, speak various languages, sing, cook, dance, be a star athlete, etc. However, only the children of God possess spiritual gifts, which are abilities, given by the Holy Spirit for developing, administrating, innovating, restoring, discovering, ministering, expanding, edifying, lifting up, exhorting, etc.
Why are there prosperous people? Because they activate faith; which is to see what others do not see, and they believe in their spiritual gifts and innate talents.
We all posses a spiritual gift that makes us suitable to explode into our greatest potential.
Potential is that hidden calling in every person that can only be revived or discovered by yourself when you have understood the reality that God has created you with a specific destiny, and achieve its fullest development. Do not become confused nor limit yourself, for the work of God in your life, with your spiritual gifts and talents, are not limited but limitless; we call that a supernatural manifestation.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:3-4, NIV).
Today I come to provoke you to move into a superior level, from the natural to the supernatural. You must begin to do spiritual exercise, activating your gifts and talents so that you may begin to live out different experiences. God has granted you with the necessities, it’s up to you to discover, cultivate, and activate them.
I pray that the blessing decreed by a father, before his death, to his son, according to the biblical story in Genesis 27:28, be the same that I unleash over your life today, “May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness—an abundance of grain and new wine.” (NIV)
